A new team member has come onboard here at Bread & Beyond to support our growing customer base.

Scott Thompson is our new night baker, supporting Artisan Bakery Manager Dylan Needham to meet the ever-increasing demand for our array of products.

Scott joined the Bread & Beyond team at the start of December.

Dylan said: “In the past four months, we have begun supplying two more outlets – Hog & Hedge in Newbury and Yattendon Village Stores – as well as taking on the task of supplying the vast majority of the bread used at Downe House School, in Cold Ash.

“Scott has joined us to help us fulfil these commitments, as well as allowing us to continue to work with our trainee bakers, primarily from Prior’s Court but also from Brookfields School, in Reading, to give these young people the opportunities to develop skills which could lead to employment.

“It is hugely encouraging that the demand for our products has meant we had a need for another baker, as it is an endorsement for both the quality of our products and our ethos.”

While the bakery shop is not open to the general public, Bread & Beyond products are available at a number of outlets across the West Berkshire area, including Hog & Hedge, in the centre of Newbury; and Casey Fields Farm Shop, in Ashampstead. We also supply all the bread and baked goods on the Prior’s Court site, catering for around 90 young people and 500 staff members.
