Newbury town centre outlet becomes latest stockist We are delighted to now be supplying Hog & Hedge, the Newbury town centre outlet which celebrates local produce. As of Wednesday, 20 November, customers at Hog & Hedge can enjoy the range of muffins we produce - chocolate chip, double chocolate, and lemon and poppyseed. And as the festive season approaches, Hog and Hedge, based in Northbrook Street, will also be stocking our Christmas range which features mince pies and, gingerbread men. Lynne Doherty, Prior’s Court’s Head of Commercial Enterprises, said: “We approached Hog & Hedge due to its reputation for supporting local produce and we are thrilled to now be working with them. “We passionately believe in the power of baking to provide vital employment skills for our young people – with only 32 per cent of autistic adults in the UK in paid employment, ventures such as Bread & Beyond can be lifechanging. “I would like to give a huge thank you to Hog & Hedge for supporting our work. By becoming a stockist, we can show Hog and Hedge’s customers the quality of the products our young people help to make.” Rupert Burnell-Nugent, from Hog & Hedge, said: "We're delighted to support Bread & Beyond by stocking their muffins and Christmas range - our customers can indulge themselves safe in the knowledge they're helping a great cause. "We're all about community here at Hog & Hedge so anything we can do to promote causes such as this can only be a good thing. It also helps that the products are absolutely delicious and pair perfectly with our amazing speciality coffee." Bread & Beyond was set up to provide work-skills training to Prior’s Court’s young people who have severe autism and complex learning difficulties. Baking is an activity which suits the strength and skills of people with autism; highly process driven, practical and with an end product which is rewarding and motivating. Profits from the sale of Bread & Beyond products go back into the Prior’s Court Foundation, enabling the work with young people with severe autism to continue. While the bakery shop is not open to the general public, Bread & Beyond products are available at Casey Fields Farm Shop, in Ashampstead, as well as Hog & Hedge. We also supply all the bread and baked goods on the Prior’s Court site, catering for around 90 young people and 600 staff members.
